Hello,

my name is Thomas Marquart, I am of German origin and live in Uppsala, Sweden, where I am enrolled as a PhD student at the Department for Astronomy & Space Physics. More specifically, I am part of the Galaxy Group and work on the kinematics of starburst dwarf galaxies.

I was the initiator of astronomy2006.blogspot.com where Ulrike, Jens and I blogged from the IAU General Assembly in Prague last August. Apparent Brightness is a continuation of this, simply because it is fun to write about astronomy and to share the things that come to my mind.
