Welcome to apparentbrightness.net, our new astronomy blog. Although there are already many entries below, this blog is brand new. The older texts were previously published on astronomy2006.blogspot.com, where Ulrike, Jens and I did some live-blogging from the IAU General Assembly in Prague last August.
